Product Maintenance Lifecycle

The Kasm Workspaces Product Maintenance Lifecycle defines how long each release is maintained and supported. This lifecycle ensures customers have a clear understanding of when updates, bug fixes, and technical assistance will be available for specific versions of Kasm Workspaces.

Version Lifecycle Matrix

The table below lists currently maintained and supported versions of Kasm Workspaces, along with their respective General Availability (GA), End of Maintenance (EOM), and End of Support (EOS) dates.

Versioning Overview

Kasm Workspaces uses a three-part versioning system in the format X.Y.Z, where:

Major Release:

Introduces significant product changes, new features, or architecture updates.

y-icon

Minor Release:

Adds feature enhancements, performance improvements, & incremental capabilities.

z-icon

Maintenance Release:

Includes patches, bug fixes, and small adjustments.

Maintenance and Support Phases

End of Maintenance (EOM)

When a release reaches End of Maintenance, Kasm no longer provides software updates, including new features or bug fixes, for that version. However, for customers using Kasm Workspaces Rolling, automated patching and operating system updates continue for an additional three (3) months beyond the EOM date.

End of Support (EOS)

When a release reaches End of Support, Kasm no longer provides troubleshooting or technical assistance for that version. Customers requiring extended assistance may obtain support through a custom enterprise support package.

Lifecycle Timelines

  • Maintenance for previous maintenance versions of that same major.minor line ends immediately.
  • Rolling users continue to receive automated OS and patch updates for 3 months after maintenance ends.
  • End of Support for the previous maintenance version extends to 6 months after EOM.
